Legacy further bolster back line with addition of Deja Davis to play alongside recent pickup Lilly Reale

During the National Women’s Soccer League’s monthlong break for the men’s World Cup, Boston Legacy FC bolstered its back line with two signings: first, acquiring Hingham native Lilly Reale from Gotham FC, and later adding Deja Davis, as the club announced Wednesday.

Davis will join the Legacy as a free agent after making 65 appearances for top-flight French team Paris FC. The 31-year-oldwon’t be available to Boston until the NWSL’s summer international transfer window opens July 14.

“I think it’s really exciting to be a part of something that’s new,” Davis said in a release. “My intention was to be here and be at the beginning of something, and help the team make a name in the NWSL. Also, for me, I’m discovering the NWSL. I’ve never played in the NWSL. I’m also pretty close to home, so it’s my chance to have my family come to games.”

A native of Montclair, N.J., Davis played at La Salle University before beginning her professional career with French club Le Havre in 2017. In seven years with the club based out of Normandy, she helped Le Havre earn two promotions, climbing to the top division in France.

“That experience and that builder’s mentality are exactly what we need at the core,” Legacy general manager Domè Guasch said in a release. “Someone who knows how to lay a foundation, brings real defensive stability, and makes everyone around her better.”

Davis signed a two-year deal with Paris FC in May 2024 and debuted that September in Champions League competition. She was part of the squad that in 2025 won the Coupe de France.

Now, Davis will team with Reale, the reigning NWSL Rookie of the Year who joined Boston on a four-year deal that runs through December 2029.

Reale, a Hingham High and South Shore Select product, made 39 appearances for Gotham, including every league game for the club in her debut season. She has nine caps with the US women’s national team.

The Legacy will return to the field Sunday at noon to face Bay FC at Rhode Island’s Centreville Bank Stadium.
