Revolution let two points slip away with tie in Montreal
In three games since MLS resumed play following the World Cup break, the Revolution have not lost, but also feel like they have given away nearly as many points as they have claimed.

New England let a two-goal halftime lead slip away Saturday night in a 2-2 tie at Montreal, denying it of a second road victory. The Revolution are 1-0-2 since play resumed, but ties against Toronto and Montreal were against teams outside of the playoff picture.
“I felt that before that [first Montreal goal], the game was kind of even in the second half. I didn’t think there was something that was missing,” Revolution coach Marko Mitrovic said. “I think we actually had a couple of situations where we could have converted better in the attack, and the last thing that we wanted was to defend 2-0. That was clear in our message at halftime.”
In his 200th start with the Revolution, Carles Gil had a goal and an assist. Dor Turgeman also scored and was denied on a breakaway by Montreal goalkeeper Sébastian Breza in the 68th minute with the game tied.
The Revolution (9-5-3, 30 points) scored twice in the span of six minutes to take a 2-0 halftime lead.
Gil scored his seventh goal of the season, and fourth from the spot, in the 30th minute to get New England on the board. After an initial stutter to the ball, Gil blasted a shot into the top left corner. The Revolution earned the spot kick when Alhassan Yusuf’s shot from just outside the box was blocked by the outstretched left arm of Montreal’s Efraín Morales while inside the box.
Moments after not being able to put the final touch on a cross from the right side, Turgeman doubled New England’s lead. Wearing a new No. 99 jersey, Turgeman had a step on his defender to convert a cross from Peyton Miller for his fourth goal of the season.

Recent signing Jack Harrison will wear the No. 7 shirt once his paperwork is finalized.
Gil nearly made it 3-0 in the 41st with a shot along the ground from just outside the top of the box that hit the post.
Brayan Vera gave Montreal (4-10-4, 16 points) a shot of adrenaline in the 52nd with a missile into the top left corner from about 35 yards out that left Matt Turner helpless.
The hosts only needed seven minutes to find an equalizer as Luca Petrasso’s cross from the left touchline found the head of Prince Owusu for his 10th goal of the season.
Turner made six saves, his best was righthanded swat of Victor Loturi’s leftfooted bid for the far corner in the 33rd.
New England will host Houston next Saturday
