Matt Turner made six saves in the victory. He dove to his left to deny Anthony Markanich on a header in the middle of the box in the 84th minute following a Kyle Duncan cross from the right. Former Revolution forward Tomás Chancalay then smashed the rebound over the bar.
Four minutes later off a Minnesota corner kick, Turner dove to his right to stop a Morris Duggan header.
Carles Gil scored from the penalty spot to put the Revolution (8-4-1, 25 points) in front after five minutes with his fifth goal of the season.

Turgeman was pulled down by Michael Boxall in the top left corner of the box. Referee Rosendo Mendoza initially let the play go, but a penalty was given following a check by VAR.
Kelvin Yeboah pulled Minnesota (6-5-3, 21 points) level in the 26th minute, also from the spot. His stuttering runup before sending Matt Turner the wrong way survived a VAR check to see if he double-hit the attempt.
While attempting to clear the box following a Minnesota corner kick, Revolution defender Brooklyn Raines brought down Anthony Markanich from behind.
Chancalay nearly put the visitors in front just before halftime. He freed himself of Brayan Ceballos and delivered a dangerous cross from the left side into the path of two teammates, but neither JoaquÃn Pereyra nor Yeboah could get on the receiving end.
