Fatal shooting at Allston apartment complex leaves one dead

Boston police are investigating a shooting at an Allston apartment complex Friday night they say left one man dead.

The man was suffering from a gunshot wound inside an apartment building at 20 Rugg Road when police responded around 10:30 p.m. He was treated by emergency responders at the scene and taken to a local hospital, where he died.

No one has been arrested, police officials said, and the victim hasn’t yet been identified.

The fatal shooting remains under investigation.

The 265-unit apartment complex located at 20 Rugg Road, The Harper, is a mid-rise, income-restricted building that opened in August 2025 in what was once an industrial stretch of lower Allston.

Calls to The Harper’s office were not immediately returned Saturday.
