Boston improved to 4-0 on its nine-game road trip with Tuesday’s 8-1 win. Payton Tolle got the victory in the series opener, allowing two hits over six shutout innings.

Andruw Monasterio, Ceddanne Rafaela, Willson Contreras, and Jarren Duran each had two hits as the Red Sox won for the ninth time in their last 11 games.

Jake Bennett will get the start Wednesday. The rookie lefthander is coming off the longest start of his career after allowing just two runs in 7⅔ innings in last Friday’s 5-2 win over the Angels. That surpassed the 6⅓ innings he tossed in his previous outing, June 27 against the Yankees, which had edged his six innings in the game before that, June 22 at the Rockies.
