Red Sox-Yankees rained out, rescheduled as a doubleheader Aug. 29 in New York

NEW YORK — Torrential downpour thunderstorms caused the postponement of the Red Sox-Yankees game Saturday night.

The teams will make it up on Aug. 29 as part of a split-admission doubleheader at Yankee Stadium, with first pitches set for 1:05 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. The rainout turns the final series of the year between the Red Sox and Yankees into a four-game, three-day set.

The forecast is clear for the finale Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

The Red Sox will start lefthander Ranger Suarez, who was supposed to pitch Saturday, and the Yankees will roll with Walpole native Cam Schlittler, their original Sunday starter.
