Jill Biden tells CBS she was worried Joe Biden was having a stroke during the 2024 presidential debate
Jill Biden said she was “frightened” while watching Joe Biden debate President Trump during the 2024 election.

“I was frightened, because I had never ever seen Joe like that before or since,” the former first lady said of her husband in an interview with CBS News.
“I don’t know what happened,” Biden added. “As I watched it, I thought, ‘Oh, my God, he’s having a stroke.’”
A clip of the interview with CBS News’ Rita Braver was released Wednesday. The full interview will air at 9 a.m. Sunday on CBS.

Biden, while running for reelection, spoke in a raspy voice, frequently appeared to lose his train of thought, and made several gaffes during the 90-minute debate against Trump in June 2024. He was 81-years-old at the time and was already facing questions about his ability to serve another four years.
Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race a few weeks later, endorsing former vice president Kamala Harris to be the Democratic nominee. Harris loss to Trump in the general election after just over 100 days of campaigning.
CBS News said in a release that Jill Biden also discussed her new book, “View from the East Wing: A Memoir,” in the forthcoming interview. The book is expected to focus on Joe Biden’s reelection bid and concerns about his health.
