Going, going, gone<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>You\u2019ll read more about her in the next section, but Milton Academy senior <b>Sophia Crowley<\/b> has to lead off this section after a three-homer day that included a grand slam. Her teammate and sister, <b>Hannah<\/b>, also left the yard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Greater New Bedford got long balls from <b>Janiah Cooper<\/b>, <b>Khloe Pereira<\/b>, and<b> Akiira\u2019ley Vazquez<\/b>, Tyngsborough enjoyed blasts from <b>Kiley Hogan<\/b> and <b>Kirstin Deschenes<\/b>, and Southeastern\u2019s <b>Isabelle Troncoso<\/b> and <b>Camrynn Precourt<\/b> both raced for inside-the-park homers.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span>Related<span>: <\/span><\/span>Staying patient through tough times paying off for Bellingham softball<\/div>\n<p><span>The rest of the days round-trippers belonged to Wakefield\u2019s<b> Chloe Seto<\/b>, Bridgewater-Raynham\u2019s <b>Leyla Medas<\/b>, Medford\u2019s <b>Jonathan Wright<\/b>, Amesbury\u2019s <b>Celia Tavares<\/b>, Haverhill\u2019s <b>Gianna Pistone<\/b>, Medway\u2019s <b>Jackson Duguay<\/b>, Cambridge\u2019s <b>Stef Alexandrov<\/b>, and Franklin\u2019s <b>Ethan Edmunds<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>6. What will it look like?<\/div>\n<p><span><b>Austin Sheppard<\/b>, Plymouth South \u2014 The freshman spun a three-hit shutout, striking out 10 and walking just one in a 3-0 baseball win vs. Quincy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Reese Taylor<\/b>, Apponequet \u2014 The sophomore whiffed 14 in a three-hitter, walking two to lift the No. 7 Lakers to a 4-0 win over No. 11 Middleborough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Hayden Valinton<\/b> and <b>Ava Damiani<\/b>, Lynnfield \u2014 Valinton, a junior, was unstoppable, lodging 11 goals and 10 draw controls, and classmate Damiani was equally impressive, scoring six times and assisting on six more in a 22-9 girls\u2019 lacrosse triumph over Triton. <\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>7. Coaching carousel<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>After 10 seasons at the helm, this will be the final postseason run for Winchester girls\u2019 tennis coach <b>Greg Lowder<\/b>. A tennis pro at the Winchester Indoor Tennis Club, Lowder led the Red &amp; Black to an undefeated season and Division 2 title in 2021 after reaching the finals in 2018 and 2019. He has Winchester sitting at 19-0 entering the postseason. <\/span><\/p>\n<div><span>Related<span>: <\/span><\/span>The bond is unbreakable for Winchester girls\u2019 tennis. Can the Red &amp; Black break through in Division 1?<\/div>\n<p><span>\u25aa A Hockomock League athletic director is changing addresses as<b> Gary Hart<\/b> moves from King Philip to Franklin, where he will take over for <b>Karrah Ellis<\/b>, according to Hockomock Sports. Brown has been AD at KP since 2017. Ellis had held her position since 2022. <\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>8. TMC ponders new formula<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Since the statewide tournament was introduced in 2021, the top 32 power-seeded teams in non-football sports, plus those teams with a .500 or better record, qualify for the postseason. Will the MIAA raise the bar, to say a 55 or 60 winning percentage? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMy opinion has changed,\u201d said <b>Andy Linkenhoker<\/b>, superintendent at Smith Vocational in Northampton, and chair of a subcommittee to look at tournament structure. \u201cI am now open to making it more strict,\u201d he said. In an 18-game schedule, a team would need to win 10 games, instead of nine, to hit 55 percent, and 11 games for 60 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The TMC will continue that discussion, and more tweaks, with an eye on the 2027-28 alignment cycle. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u25aa The TMC also approved a shift in the girls\u2019 lacrosse season to match the boys\u2019 season after the five-day difference in cutoff days was giving athletic directors scheduling headaches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u25aa The football committee will present its new playoff format, which includes a Super 8 tournament, at the June 9 in-person TMC meeting. <\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>9. College corner<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>\u25aa Three local Northeastern baseball players earned All-CAA honors. Junior <b>Ryan Gerety<\/b>, a Franklin graduate, was named to the first team after slashing .330\/.471\/.512 with five homers, 36 RBIs, and 20 steals. Senior <b>Matt Brinker<\/b>, a Xaverian graduate from Norfolk, also made the first team after batting .322 with eight home runs and 58 RBIs. Redshirt junior <b>Robbie O\u2019Connor<\/b>, a Lincoln-Sudbury graduate, made the second team after going 9-1 and holding opposing batters to a .207 average after transferring from UMass. O\u2019Connor was also named the CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week after firing a three-hit shutout to beat Towson. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u25aa Keene State senior pitcher <b>David Floyd<\/b>, a North Attleborough graduate, was named to the LEC All-Conference time after pitching to a 1.64 ERA in 38\u2153 innings, striking out 42 and finishing 4-0. Teammate <b>Evan Cali<\/b>, a Taunton graduate, made the second team after hitting a team-best .385 with 43 RBIs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u25aa Bates senior <b>Connor Hartman<\/b>, a Hingham graduate, and junior <b>Riley McClure<\/b>, a Pingree graduate from Georgetown, were named USILA All-American honorable mentions for men\u2019s lacrosse. Hartman was previously named third team All-American by USA Lacrosse and first team All-NESCAC. McClure was a second team All-NESCAC selection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u25aa UMass Dartmouth senior <b>Brett Baker<\/b>, a Chelmsford graduate, was named to the LEC All-Conference first team, while junior <b>Jordan Paradis<\/b>, a North Attleborough graduate, was a second team selection. Baker hit .324 with 15 doubles, 39 runs, and 35 RBIs. Paradis went 4-2 with a 4.05 ERA and a team-high 70 strikeouts in 40 innings. Freshman <b>Jayden Cruz<\/b>, a Somerset Berkley graduate, and <b>Jackson Hayes<\/b>, a Pope Francis graduate from Westfield, made the third team. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u25aa Connecticut College senior <b>Liam Doherty<\/b>, a Winchester graduate, was tabbed a NEILA All-New England honorable mention after finishing the season with 34 groudn balls and 13 caused turnovers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u25aa Connecticut College track and field junior <b>Errol Apostolopoulos<\/b>, a Marblehead graduate, was named USTFCCCA Division 3 All-Region for the long jump.
