She finished her degree in Chestnut Hill this spring while training with the Legacy and made her NWSL debut on May 30, coming on as a substitute against the Kansas City Current.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Lowenberg, a versatile midfielder who hails from Trumbull, Conn., will join Brooklyn FC as the Gainbridge Super League, which is part of USL, prepares to begin its fall season on August 15. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>In a release, Legacy director of recruitment Edward Gallagher said the club will remain in close contact throughout the loan \u201cas we help prepare her for the next steps in 2027.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonrelocationinsider.com\/?p=4705\">Boston Globe All-Scholastics: Meet the top athletes of the 2026 spring high school sports season<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cSophia has made real progress since joining us from Boston College and has been a really positive presence within our training group,\u201d Gallagher said. \u201cShe has a great personality, has adapted well to the demands of the NWSL environment, and now we feel competitive game time at the professional level will be key to the next stage of her development.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Legacy will host Chicago Friday night at 8 p.m. at Rhode Island\u2019s Centreville Bank Stadium. After a 2-2 draw with Bay FC in their return from the break for the men\u2019s World Cup, the Legacy sit 15th in the NWSL standings (2-7-4, 10 points). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Boston recently added two players to its roster: defender Lilly Reale, a Hingham native traded from Gotham FC, and defender Deja Davis from French club Paris FC.
