\u201cIt\u2019s tough,\u201d Tatum said Tuesday night in Newton while promoting his new children\u2019s book. \u201cBut it just makes you appreciate the moments and time that we had. Obviously, it came to an abrupt ending, but it doesn\u2019t mean that it wasn\u2019t super successful. Great years, obviously, that he gave to the city and to the organization.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Tatum and Brown helped usher in one of the more fruitful chapters in the Celtics\u2019 storied history \u2014 with Boston advancing to five Eastern Conference Finals and two NBA Finals during the duo\u2019s nine seasons together.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTo be honest, it\u2019s weird,\u201d Tatum said of Brown\u2019s sudden exit. \u201cYou play on a team with a guy for nine years, who I was fortunate enough to go to the Finals with twice, and win a championship, and push each other to be the players that we are today.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
