Twelve stars<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><b>Aliyah Coutu<\/b>, Greater Lowell \u2014 The senior produced 9 points with five goals and four assists in a 14-5 girls\u2019 lacrosse victory over Monty Tech\/Sizer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Zahria Daley<\/b>, Milton \u2014 The Princeton-committed senior struck out eight in the circle and helped her own cause with three runs scored and five RBIs at the plate in a 16-4 softball win over Dedham. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonrelocationinsider.com\/?p=445\">Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony making actual progress after cortisone shot in wrist<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Ava Damiani<\/b>, Lynnfield \u2014 The junior was unstoppable, producing seven goals and five assists to hold off Swampscott, 17-15, in girls\u2019 lacrosse action. <\/span><\/p>\n<div><span>Related<span>: <\/span><\/span>100th win one to savor, but for BC High rugby coach Paul Carty, growing the game is the vision<\/div>\n<p><span><b>Tommy Farrell<\/b>, North Andover \u2014 The senior dished six assists to go with four goals, producing 10 points in a 14-8 boys\u2019 lacrosse win over Chelmsford. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Sophie Farrington<\/b>, Sandwich, \u2014 The eighth-grader was brilliant, striking out eight in just three innings and providing two hits, including a double, and four RBIs at the dish in an 18-0 softball rout of Dennis-Yarmouth. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Sara Keck<\/b>, Wilmington \u2014 The sophomore fired a three-hit shutout in a 12-0 softball win over Burlington, adding three hits and four RBIs at the plate. <\/span><\/p>\n<div><span>Related<span>: <\/span><\/span>Family matters for Madison Park baseball, where five schools have banded together to build something<\/div>\n<p><span><b>Audrey Muzikant<\/b>, Needham \u2014 The sophomore tossed a three-hit shutout, fanning eight, and leading the offense with three RBIs to defeat Concord-Carlisle, 12-0. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>McKenzie O\u2019Connell<\/b>, Mashpee \u2014 The junior was a force at the plate, rapping out four hits and collecting seven RBIs in a 16-13 softball win over Nantucket. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Brady Protz<\/b>, Plymouth South \u2014 The senior fired a two-hitter, fanning seven and driving in two runs in a 6-1 baseball win over Quincy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Vitou Seng<\/b>, <b>Aundre Rivera<\/b>, and <b>Anthony Pheng<\/b>, Lowell \u2014 All three put up eye-popping numbers in a 3-2 boys\u2019 volleyball triumph over Methuen. Seng, a senior, dished 52 assists and added six kills, Rivera, a junior, posted 20 kills and 32 digs, and Pheng, a senior, added 12 kills and 37 digs. <\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>7. Commitment central<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>One of the top quarterbacks in the state has found a home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Xaverian junior <b>Will Wood<\/b>, a Natick resident, ranked the No. 2 Class of 2027 QB in Massachusetts by 247Sports and On3, has verbally committed to Penn State, he confirmed on social media Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Wood was also considering BC, UConn, Arkansas, and West Virginia. A two-time state champion, Wood, the Catholic Conference offensive MVP, threw for 2,812 yards, totaled 42 touchdowns and tossed just one interception all season during a Super Bowl run. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A three-star recruit, per 247Sports, he\u2019s ranked as the No. 29 QB in the nation. Coaching carousel<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>West Springfield is bringing back one of its own as football coach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Vinnie Guiel<\/b>, a 2012 graduate, will take the reins from Chad Labonte, who coached the Terriers for 21 years before retiring. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Guiel was the head coach at Smith Vocational for one season, then spent three seasons at the helm of Amherst-Pelham (17-13 record) before taking over at Simsbury High (Conn.) for the 2025 season.
