Boston Stadium\u2019s cheapest tickets for the World Cup quarterfinal run around $1,500. That\u2019s a 20 percent bump from last week, according to Ticket-Compare.com, a website that aggregates ticket resale data from other reselling platforms. Out of over 60,000 seats in Foxborough, under 1,200 were available on major resale sites as of Thursday afternoon. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt can work out if you\u2019re crazy enough and willing to pay for a significant premium,\u201d said Alex Bird, a blog editor at Ticket-Compare.com. <\/span><\/p>\n

Within a few hours of a match starting, prices can drop significantly to help late sellers make a few bucks. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a game of chicken,\u201d Bird said<\/span><\/p>\n

Tickets are sold from three categories. Category three are packed with rowdy fans, usually behind a goal post, and the cheapest. Those start at around $1,400 each for the quarterfinal. <\/span><\/p>\n
