A significant portion of that came in 2025, when an investment firm tied to the United Arab Emirates bought nearly half of the Trump family\u2019s main crypto company, World Liberty Financial. He also collected hundreds of millions of dollars from sales of his $TRUMP meme coin and World Liberty\u2019s sale of its own digital tokens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Trump both benefits from the crypto industry and dictates policy that shapes it. He has insisted he does not direct the people who run his private enterprises.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Kelley Koch, chair of an Iowa group called MAGA Nation, said Trump\u2019s earnings were proof of his ability to navigate the complicated new frontier of digital finance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe live in a free country &#8212; capitalism,\u201d Koch said. \u201cHe\u2019s extremely smart. He\u2019s a businessman. My kids follow bitcoin, Polymarket, Kalshi, all of this new tech stuff. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., who is in a competitive Senate primary, said on the social platform X. \u201cHe has no idea what it\u2019s like to live on a Social Security check, and he\u2019s shown he doesn\u2019t care.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>California Gov. Gavin Newsom, widely thought to be a 2028 presidential contender, wrote on social media that \u201cDonald Trump is the most corrupt president in America history.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While most Republican officials remained silent on the topic Thursday, Republicans who have become alienated from Trump said the revelations from his financial gains validated their belief that he had abandoned his populist platform.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, who has formally broken with the Republican Party, said Trump\u2019s personal enrichment was further proof that MAGA voters needed to abandon the GOP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe GOP is a disaster,\u201d she wrote on X. \u201cThe Republican Party hijacked MAGA, pretended to be America First and MAHA, and then sold us all out. Then Trump rubber stamped the entire con job while taking checks from literally everyone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Koch said the president\u2019s personal enrichment had not been a topic of conversation among her friends in Iowa, who love Trump but are also willing to disagree with him.
