Grimes agreed to a four-year, $60 million contract, which includes a player option. Grimes averaged 13.4 points in 75 games for the 76ers a season ago. Collin Sexton, who posted 17.5 points a game for the Bulls, will ink a two-year, $19 million contract.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Jazz trade Walker Kessler to Lakers<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>The Lakers acquired Walker Kessler for unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033 and first-round swaps in 2028 and 2030, per ESPN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Kessler agreed to a four-year, $130 million deal with the Lakers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Kessler, a 7-foot-2-inch center, only played in five games last season, averaging 14.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Celtics agree to deal with center Mitchell Robinson<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><b>By Adam Himmelsbach, Globe Staff<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Last week, Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens said that when free agency opened, he intended to pursue a big man who could be a force at the rim, and a guard with some speed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On the second day of free agency, the Celtics took steps toward addressing those needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>League sources confirmed that Boston has agreed to a three-year, $47.4 million contract with Mitchell Robinson, the defensive-minded, lob-catching big man who came off the bench to help the Knicks snap their 53-year NBA title drought last month. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Robinson, 28, averaged 5.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game for New York last season and is a particularly dominant offensive rebounder, a skill coach Joe Mazzulla values highly. He shot 72.3 percent from the field thanks to his steady diet of dunks and layups. He is well-known as a liability at the foul line, however, where he shot a career-low 40.8 percent last season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Read more here.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Celtics add guard Mike Conley Jr.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><b>By Adam Himmelsbach, Globe Staff<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Celtics have agreed to a one-year free agent contract with veteran point guard Mike Conley Jr., a league source confirmed Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The 38-year-old will be entering his 20th NBA season. He spent the last three-plus seasons with the Timberwolves, filling a bench role for the first time in his career in 2025-26.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Conley appeared in 54 games last season and averaged 4.5 points and 2.9 assists. He has made 38.7 percent of his 3-pointers during his career but connected at a lower percentage, 33.7, in \u201925-26.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In addition to being a reliable backup, Conley should also bring a veteran presence to the Celtics\u2019 locker room. He is a four-time winner of the league\u2019s Sportsmanship Award, the most of any player in NBA history.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Nikola Vucevic to return to Magic<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Center Nikola Vucevic, who was acquired by the Celtics via a February trade for Anfernee Simons, has agreed to return to the Orlando Magic, according to ESPN. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Vucevic was with the Magic from 2012 to 2021. He has a career averages of 17.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, and was an All-Star during the 2018-19 and 2020-21 seasons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Vucevic appeared in 16 games and averaged 9.7 points for the Celtics in 2026<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>76ers, Wade agree to deal<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a $39 million, four-year deal with veteran forward Dean Wade.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span>Wade is the first big offseason deal made by new 76ers president of basketball operations Mike Gansey. Gansey joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2011 and worked as their general manager since 2022 before he left for Philadelphia and long championed Wade, who went undrafted in 2019 out of Kansas State.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The 6-foot-9 Wade spent his entire seven-year NBA career with the Cavaliers. He\u2019s never averaged more than 6.0 points in a season and is expected to become a key rotation player in Philadelphia.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Suns signing sharpshooter Kennard<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>The Suns have reportedly agreed to a $13 million, two-year deal with veteran guard Luke Kennard.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span>The 6-foot-5-inch guard has consistently been one of the most accurate 3-point shooters in the NBA, hitting 44.2 percent of his attempts over a nine-year career. Here are the potential quarterfinal matchups.<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Hawks re-signing center Landale<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Center Jock Landale has reportedly reached an agreement on a one-year, $14 million deal to re-sign with the Hawks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Hawks helped to clear financial room for Landale by declining their $24.3 million team option on forward Jonathan Kuminga. Monday was the last day for Atlanta to commit to the option and the decision made Kuminga a free agent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Landale missed the Hawks\u2019 playoff loss to the Knicks because of a sprained right ankle. The Hawks acquired Landale from the Jazz on Feb. 4, one day after Landale was traded from Memphis to Utah as part of an eight-player deal.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Kawhi Leonard returning to Raptors in trade<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>According to ESPN\u2019s Shams Charania, the Raptors are nearing a deal to bring back guard Kawhi Leonard, the NBA Finals MVP of their 2019 championship, in a trade with the Clippers. The report said the Clippers would receive forward Brandon Ingram, guard Gradey Dick, unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a 2027 pick swap, and second-round picks in 2030 and 2033.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Leonard, who turned 35 on Monday, was seventh in the MVP voting last season averaging a career-high 27.9 points along with 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.9 steals in 65 games. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He is a seven-time All-Star and two-time defensive player of the year.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Robert Williams to remain in Portland<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>According to ESPN\u2019s Shams Charania, center Robert Williams III has agreed to a three-year, $44 million extension to remain with the Trail Blazers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Williams began his NBA career with the Celtics, who drafted him out of Texas A&amp;M in 2018. He spent five seasons in Boston before he was traded as part of the deal that brought Jrue Holiday to the Celtics in 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Williams has career averages of 7.1 points and 6.9 rebounds over 294 NBA games (eight seasons).<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>LeBron James plans to leave Lakers<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>LeBron James will not be back with the Lakers and plans to play a record-extending 24th NBA season elsewhere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>His decision is perhaps the biggest domino that will fall during the NBA\u2019s offseason player movement window, alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo being traded by Milwaukee to Miami \u2014 one of James\u2019s former stops.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span>Related<span>: <\/span><\/span>Celtics exercise team options for Neemias Queta, Jordan Walsh, and Dalano Banton<\/div>\n<p><span>\u201cLeBron James is one of the greatest athletes in history,\u201d said Jeanie Buss, part of the Lakers\u2019 ownership group. \u201cWe will always be thankful for his eight years with the Lakers, including the title he led us to in 2020 under the toughest imaginable circumstances, and the countless records he broke in purple and gold. He will always be a cherished part of the Lakers family.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Read more here.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Porzingis to stay with Warriors<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Center Kristaps Porzingis, who played two seasons for the Celtics, has reached agreement on a two-year, $40 million contract to remain with the Warriors, according to a person with direct knowledge of the negotiations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The person spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity Tuesday because the deal has not been finalized or announced by the team. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The 30-year-old Latvian joined Golden State at the February trade deadline from Atlanta in a swap that sent Buddy Hield and Jonathan Kuminga to the Hawks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Porzingis missed significant time last season even after coming to the Warriors. The 7-foot-2-inch veteran played just 32 games, averaging 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. He appeared in 15 games for Golden State with 11 starts.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Will Jaylen Brown stay with Celtics?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Much of the buzz about the Celtics remains centered on the longest-tenured member of the roster, who also has three years remaining on his contract.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Last week the Celtics\u2019 pursuit of Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo failed when Milwaukee agreed to trade him to the Heat in a deal centered on draft picks and young players. A league source said that Brown has grown frustrated with the organization\u2019s approach following a season in which he guided the Celtics to 56 wins while Jayson Tatum was sidelined for months with an Achilles injury.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Last Tuesday night, Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens stopped short of saying Brown would be on Boston\u2019s roster next season. It remains unclear if the Celtics are urgently attempting to trade Brown or simply listening to pitches from prospective suitors. One league source said Brown could still return to the Celtics next season, even if some uncomfortable conversations must happen first.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Read more here.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Landry Shamet to stay with Knicks<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Landry Shamet is returning to the Knicks with a four-year deal worth $24 million, a person with knowledge of the details said Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Shamet was a key contributor to the Knicks with his outside shooting and defense, and the NBA champions have an agreement to keep him long term, the person told the Associated Press on condition of anonymity since there was no announcement of the new contract.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Spurs re-sign Champagnie<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>The Spurs signed starting forward Julian Champagnie to a new three-year, $45 million contract on Monday, securing a key piece of the core that led the club to the NBA Finals this season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The compensation was confirmed by a person familiar with the deal who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the terms have not been released.
