After dropping the series finale to the MLB-worst Rockies in Denver on Wednesday afternoon, the Red Sox will be back at Fenway Park Thursday night to face the Yankees.<\/span><\/p>\n

The game is the beginning of a seven-game homestand. After four against their longtime rivals, the Sox will host the Nationals for a three-game series starting Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Sox could have been, and probably should have been, riding a three-game winning streak and coming off a sweep in Colorado, but a pair of late-inning collapses resulted in losses to drop them to 14 games below .500 and 15\u00bd games behind the Yankees for first place in the AL East.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lefthander Connelly Early will get the nod for the Sox in the opener, while the Yankees will counter with Walpole native and Northeastern product Cam Schlittler.<\/span><\/p>\n
