The NBA did not disclose what role the second banned person, who did not run onto the court, played in the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe individual who entered the court area during Game 1 of The Finals was arrested and will be banned for life from all NBA arenas,\u201d an NBA spokesman said in a message sent to The Associated Press and other outlets. \u201cA second individual will also receive a lifetime ban for his role in the incident.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>The person who was arrested after running onto the court is a juvenile, according to a person with knowledge of the matter who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because that detail \u2014 first reported by the San Antonio Express-News \u2014 was not revealed publicly.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><span>Get Starting Point<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span>A guide through the most important stories of the morning, delivered Monday through Friday.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><label>Enter Email<\/label><\/p>\n<div><button>Sign Up<\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><span>That fan appeared to enter the court from the sideline opposite the team benches, starting from behind the play and running into San Antonio\u2019s offensive end. The person was quickly pulled from the court by two security guards and it did not appear the person made any physical contact with Wembanyama or any New York players.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI even hesitate to describe that person as a fan,\u201d NBA commissioner Adam Silver said Thursday. \u201cThey seemed to have some ulterior motive for doing so.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Wembanyama did not appear bothered by the incident, either as it was happening or afterward.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI\u2019ve never been in that situation,\u201d Wembanyama said. \u201cI didn\u2019t know how to act.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span>Play on Wednesday was stopped for 1 minute and 29 seconds before the game resumed with a jump ball. The fan who entered the play was taken out of the court area through a tunnel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI don\u2019t think it was an event at all,\u201d Spurs coach Mitch Johnson said. \u201cI thought security got him out of there. I think the other side of the coin of global attention is that somebody realizes that there\u2019s this enormous platform to do stupid things. So, we learn from every incident.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>League investigating fan\u2019s words to Brunson<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span>Another incident involving fan behavior occurred in the final minute of Wednesday\u2019s Game 1, when Knicks guard Jalen Brunson \u2014 who had a game-high 30 points in the Knicks\u2019 come-from-behind win \u2014 appeared to be upset by something said to him by a patron in a courtside seat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Silver confirmed Thursday that the league is looking into what was said to Brunson. Asked about that incident, Brunson declined to comment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cTo be honest, I didn\u2019t even see what happened,\u201d Knicks forward Josh Hart said. \u201cI heard something about it. I didn\u2019t really see it. I don\u2019t know. He\u2019s always pretty calm, pretty composed. I\u2019m sure the fans probably said something crazy to kind of get him going.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Fan behavior and conduct has been a point of emphasis for the NBA in recent years, and the league sent a memo to all 30 clubs at the start of this season saying it wants \u201cconsistent and vigilant enforcement of the NBA Fan Code of Conduct . . . to deter and address fan misconduct at NBA games and events.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The NBA, in that October memo, told teams that arena staff \u201cmust be trained to identify behavior that violates NBA rules and to respond proactively.\u201d The NBA, like many leagues, also has a video detailing a code of conduct for fans played in every arena before each game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt is critical that teams and arenas vigorously enforce the Code of Conduct and not tolerate any misconduct that impacts our players, fans, or otherwise disrupts the game,\u201d the league said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonrelocationinsider.com\/?p=2087\">A giant waterfront sanctuary plus much-needed housing in Chelsea.
