Sophomore Grace Trahan scored twice, and senior attack Olivia Cipriano added one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Franklin sophomore attack Ruby Risgin scored twice in the first 68 seconds of the second half to give the Panthers (19-2) an 8-7 lead. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Westford responded with four straight tallies in under four minutes, capitalizing on a yellow card assessed to Franklin senior Morgan Lovell, to take an 11-8 lead it would not relinquish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThat run was huge,\u201d said Olivier. \u201cTo me, it was all effort.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Senior Izzy Cross led the Panthers with five goals, and sophomore Clara Blongastainer added three.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Ghosts are making their second consecutive trip to the state semifinals after falling in last spring\u2019s state final. They will meet top-seeded Notre Dame (Hingham) at a date, time, and location to be announced. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt feels really nice,\u201d Carmichael said. \u201cI know a lot of teams doubted us. They thought it was just my sister who did all the work, but I think we proved that wrong.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Carmichael\u2019s older sister, Kassidy, was the Globe\u2019s Division 1 Player of the Year last spring. She led Westford last season and now plays ice hockey and lacrosse at Ohio State. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cJust showing that we have talent all across the field, with or without her, is huge,\u201d said Weber.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><i>Division 2 State<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Duxbury 13, Longmeadow 12<\/b> <b>\u2014 <\/b>Junior Gabby Fisher scored her sixth goal with 26 seconds left, powering the host No. 4 Dragons (16-5) past the No. 5 Lancers (13-8).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Duxbury responded from an early deficit to tie it at 8 at halftime before Longmeadow jumped ahead, 12-10, through three. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Lili Fisher, Regan Donovan, and freshman goalie Sami Collentro helped keep the Lancers off the scoreboard, then Gabby Fisher tied it with 5:01 left and provided fireworks late.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cShe deserves it,\u201d said Duxbury coach Colby Bartro. \u201cShe has been such a tremendous asset to this team for the past three years. She is that player at the end of the game that can make those big plays happen.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Dragons played with senior captain Addie Slimbaugh in mind after she exited with an injury late in the third. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOnce we saw Addie go down, we all looked at each other, like, \u2018We\u2019re doing this for her; we need to win for her,\u2019 \u201d Gabby Fisher said. \u201cWe did it. He\u2019s still looking for an explanation.<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<h2>Boys lacrosse<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><i>Division 1 State<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Acton-Boxborough 10, North Andover 8 \u2014<\/b> Tristan Clayton and Will Cronin both had hat tricks to lead the fourth-seeded Revolution (17-2) to a second-round home victory over the No. 13 Scarlet Knights (7-13). Ethan Fennel added two goals and three assists, and Chris Houle made 12 saves in net. Tommy Farrell racked up four goals and four assists for North Andover.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Bishop Feehan 7, Shrewsbury 5 \u2014<\/b> Junior attack Chase Dreystadt registered four goals to usher the fifth-seeded Shamrocks (15-4) to a second-round home victory over the No. 12 Colonials (14-6). Dexter Izzo scored twice, and Shane Monaghan rounded out the scoring for Feehan, who will face fourth-seeded Acton-Boxborough in the quarterfinals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>St. John\u2019s Prep 16, Needham 6 \u2014<\/b> Thias Tolo, Beckett Lee, and Ryan McCarthy each scored twice to headline a balanced attack that included 13 different goal scorers for the second-seeded Eagles (18-2) in a second-round home win over the No. 15 Rockets (9-10). Starting goalie Max Putney made five of his six saves in the first quarter, and starting FOGO Will Crawford won all nine of his faceoffs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><i>Division 2 State<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Duxbury 10, Milton 7 \u2014 <\/b>Fueled by three goals from Cam Heald, the host No. 5 Dragons (14-6) pulled away from the No. 12 Wildcats (14-6) to cement a second-round victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Milton jumped ahead early behind junior Bobby Naumes (3 goals), then Duxbury scored four unanswered to take a 7-4 halftime lead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Wildcats sliced it to 7-6 through three quarters before Duxbury\u2019s Keegan Artz, Cam Silvia, and Cole Martin (two goals each) created separation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Longmeadow 18, Agawam 1 \u2014<\/b> Max Zichittella (two assists) and Joe Szczepanek (assist) each posted hat tricks as the second-seeded Lancers (16-4) cruised to a second-round home win over the No. 15 Brownies (14-5). Teddy Henshaw had two goals and two assists, and Brady Stocks added two goals with an assist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Marshfield 11, Canton 9 \u2014<\/b> Jonathan Sullivan bagged a hat trick, and FOGO Sam O\u2019Brien went 18 for 23 at the faceoff-X with 14 ground balls to drive the sixth-seeded Rams (15-5) past the No. 11 Bulldogs (12-8) in a second-round contest. Kyle Bossey and James Finucane each potted two goals in the victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h2>Baseball<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><i>Division 3 State<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Gloucester 2, Nauset 0 \u2014<\/b> Nico Alves struck out 14 for the 10th-seeded Fishermen (18-3) in a first-round shutout against No. 23 Nauset (7-12). Pip Emerson socked an RBI double in the first inning, and Cade Frances plated a run in the fifth to account for the scoring.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h2>Softball<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><i>Division 1 State<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Attleboro 7, Bishop Feehan 1 \u2014 <\/b>Jenna Callahan singled twice and tripled, knocking in two runs for the No. 3 Bombardiers (16-6) in a second-round triumph over No. 14 Bishop Feehan (7-15). In the circle, Callahan walked two and punched out five, letting up just one run. Avery Graziosi added a hit and two RBIs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Central Catholic 13, Peabody 7 \u2014<\/b> Chloe Salerno belted a grand slam to build an early 6-0 lead for the second-seeded Raiders (21-0). After No. 15 Peabody (13-5) shrunk the deficit to just one run, Madelyn Estepe (4 for 5) crushed a bases-loaded double in the sixth to seal the second-round triumph.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Franklin 3, Wachusett 2<\/b> \u2014 Elle Weston laced a two-run single to left in a three-run fourth inning and Sophia Sacramone survived back-to-back homers in the sixth with a 1-2-3 seventh as the 12th-seeded Panthers (11-11) held off No. 5 Wachusett (14-8) in a second-round matchup in Holden. Brooke Bonetti singled in the first Franklin run in the fourth. Sacramone struck out eight and walked just one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><i>Division 2 State<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Marshfield 3, Agawam 2 \u2014 <\/b>Makenna Robinson\u2019s walkoff single in the ninth inning scored Cam Bonarrigo to deliver the No. 2 Rams (20-2) a second-round triumph over No. 18 Agawam (14-7). Sophomore lefthander Caroline Arruda scattered six hits and fanned four, adding a homer at the plate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Walpole 7, Plymouth South 2 \u2014<\/b> Senior Grace Todd went 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored for the No. 5 Timberwolves (15-5) in a second-round win over No. 12 Plymouth South (15-5). Junior Ellie Boland (2 for 4) earned the win in the circle, walking none and striking out eight while letting up six hits. Seniors Caitlin Baker and Sienna Kreuzer knocked in run apiece.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><i>Division 3 State<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Foxborough 4, Lynnfield 0 \u2014<\/b> Freshman Anna Patterson tossed a no-hitter, with 13 strikeouts, for the No. 6 Warriors (14-7) in a first-round shutout of No. 27 Lynnfield (9-13). Ruby Klos rapped a clutch two-out, two-run single in the fourth to hand Patterson the lead for good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><i>Division 4 State<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Seekonk 10, Cohasset 7 \u2014<\/b> Shelby Quinn hit a two-run homer and an RBI single to power a first-round victory for the No. 12 Warriors (13-9) over No. 21 Cohasset (12-8). Cohasset\u2019s Maddy LeFevre and Libby Morgan rapped a homer apiece.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><i>Division 5 State<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Franklin County Tech 4, West Boylston 2 \u2014 <\/b>Charley Knight\u2019s RBI single in the third put the No. 12 Eagles (11-12) ahead, ending the 20-game win streak for fifth-seeded West Boylston (20-1) in the second round. Brayleigh Burgh (4 strikeouts, 2 walks) worked in the circle and Emma Petersen knocked in a single and plated a run.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Maynard 11, McCann Tech 1 \u2014<\/b> Abigail Karlon (3 for 4, two RBIs) and Sadie Poulin (2 hits, 2 RBIs) fueled a second-round triumph for the No. 4 Tigers (16-4) over the No. 13 Hornets (17-3). Maddy Karlon scattered three hits and struck out 12, and also scored a pair of runs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><b>Monson 14, Tahanto 13 \u2014<\/b> Maddy Caron rapped the walkoff single to plate Chelsea Hull, delivering a second-round win for the No. 7 Mustangs (16-7) over No. 10 Tahanto (10-9). Hull started in the circle, striking out five and walking none, and went 3 for 3 at the plate with a pair of triples and a double.
