The Bishop Feehan lefthander was his typical dominant self Sunday night despite inclement weather, firing five scoreless frames on 85 pitches, striking out 12 and allowing just one hit, leading the No. 2 Shamrocks to an 8-0 win over No. 34 Andover in the first round of the Division 1 tournament.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think I pitched well, but it means more that the team [scored] eight runs, got a big win, played good defense, so I\u2019m very pleased with the way the team played, too,\u201d Bumila said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bumila was clocked at 98 miles per hour for one strikeout, also hitting 97, 96, and 95 on three occasions for finishing pitches for the Shamrocks (15-6) despite persistent rain. He helped his own cause with a two-run single in the fourth as part of a four-run rally.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Shamrocks also plated four in the second, with the first five batters of the frame reaching base safely. Eddie Ritchie drove in a pair with a second-inning sacrifice fly and a fourth-inning RBI double.<\/span><\/p>\n
