Finding success in nearly every event, Lexington (118 points) sped past Newton North (75) and Wachusett (61.5) to win a second straight state title.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cToday was the cherry on top,\u201d said Cuthbertson, who placed first in the discus (133 feet, 7 inches) and the shot put (41-05). \u201cGraduation was awesome, obviously. Amelia Whorton championed the 800 meters (2 minutes, 09.29 seconds) and the mile (4:52.66), while Aubrey Deardorf owned the triple jump (38-07.75). Callie Glenn, Natalie Bielat, Jane Conrad, and Whorton teamed up for the fastest 4&#215;800 relay performance (9:17.26) in the state this season. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt was a huge team effort. It was not just one group \u2014 it wasn\u2019t just distance, it wasn\u2019t just throws,&#8221; said Lexington coach Rebecca Trachsel. \u201cThey are so passionate about the sport. They are so driven, and they all just really love and support each other.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On the boys\u2019 side, St. John\u2019s Prep drove 100 miles to show off at 100 meters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Eagles\u2019 4&#215;100 relay team of Andrew McManmon, Dayvian Sullivan, Ethan Stefanovich, and Ahmir Hykel set the state mark (41.53 seconds), and in the 100, McManmon (10.89) and Sullivan (10.92) were second and third, respectively. With 24 points from the 100-meter events, the Eagles (98 points) topped Lexington (85) and Xaverian (62) for the title.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThey\u2019ve been waiting for this day all season,\u201d said Prep coach Zach Lankow. \u201cVery lucky to have the 4&#215;100 team we have. Tyson Stroope won the high jump (6-06) and the pentathlon (3,619 points), while Mickey Kuleszka was best at the javelin (173-07). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThere were so many really great things,\u201d said Lankow. \u201cThis senior class is awesome \u2014 such great leaders. They\u2019re great.
