Dubuisson also placed second in the 100 hurdles (14.46). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis is just a really, really special group,\u201d said Amico. \u201c[The results Thursday] definitely gave them the confidence that we belong, and then everyone just did their part to put us over the top.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On the boys\u2019 side, Walpole finished with 99.5 points to earn its third consecutive outdoor state title by a razor-tight margin over Reading (99).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Timberwolves\u2019 victory came down to the final javelin toss by senior Jake Stenstrom (166 feet, 4 inches), who notched a five-foot personal best to place third in the event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI was not expecting it to be the last event,\u201d said Stenstrom. \u201cBut it feels amazing. I turned around and looked at the board, see 166, and it\u2019s a great, great feeling.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Walpole\u2019s only victory Sunday came in the 4&#215;100 relay (43.17), with its other win coming from senior Sawyer Regan (3,290 points) in the pentathlon on Thursday. <\/span><\/p>\n<div><span>Related<span>: <\/span><\/span>Ayer Shirley girls pick up where they left off, Abington boys twinning at Division 6 track championships<\/div>\n<p><span>Stenstrom also finished second in the 110 hurdles (15.14) and senior Arnold Obour-Mensah was second in the 100 dash (10.70). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Longmeadow ran the fastest time in the boys\u2019 4&#215;800, but was disqualified for throwing the baton after crossing the finish line. The Lancers placed third with 96.5 points.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>After winning the 200 in a personal-best time (21.11) Thursday, Reading senior Ryan Pulpi entered Sunday with an ambitious plan: Compete in both the 400 and 100, which were scheduled just 25 minutes apart. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Pulpi paced himself in the 400, but still fended off his competition for a win in 48.97. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In the 100, Pulpi executed his start to perfection en route to a half-second victory (10.44).
