Thomas Massie, President Donald Trump\u2019s most prominent Republican critic in Congress, lost his primary last week in Kentucky to a challenger backed by the president. But Massie filed a statement of candidacy on Monday that will give him the ability to raise money for a potential run for office in 2028, according to Federal Election Commission records.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonrelocationinsider.com\/?p=1252\">Game 53: Braves at Red Sox lineups and notes<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis allows me to raise funds to continue my political operations supporting my position as a current office holder and as a potential candidate for federal office,\u201d Massie wrote in a social media post.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>While the form lists the office being sought as \u201cHouse,\u201d Massie wrote: \u201cI haven\u2019t made a final decision about which office to seek, if I run.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Massie, 55, the libertarian-leaning, raw-milk-drinking, MIT-educated engineer who was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012, emerged as a thorn in Trump\u2019s side during his second term. He was one of only two House Republicans to vote no on the president\u2019s signature \u201cbig, beautiful bill,\u201d he led the push for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, and he has been a vocal opponent of the war in Iran.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonrelocationinsider.com\/?p=1250\">Federal court blocks Alabama plan for new congressional districts that could help Republicans<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>On Sunday, on NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet the Press,\u201d Massie was asked if he was considering a run for president in 2028. \u201cI will not rule out anything, and right now I\u2019m not going to rule in anything,\u201d he told host Kristen Welker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI won\u2019t rule out a run for county commissioner,\u201d Massie added. \u201cI used to be the county judge executive here.
