Olivia Pichardo, who made Division 1 baseball history at Brown, enters transfer portal with the intention to play softball
Olivia Pichardo, who capped four seasons on the Brown baseball team last month by becoming the first woman to pitch in a Division 1 game, has announced she intends to play softball with her final year of college eligibility.
Pichardo became the first woman to reach a Division 1 baseball roster in 2022, making the Bears primarily as a lefthanded-hitting outfielder. She appeared in five games her first three seasons, but also had skills as a righthanded pitcher.
She got to use them on April 25, recording the final out of a 16-4 win over Cornell on senior day. The win qualified Brown for the Ivy League tournament; the Bears face Penn on Friday.
