Photos: World Cup fever takes over Boston and the region in June and July
Boston played host to seven games in the 2026 World Cup, and the entire region, from the North Shore to Providence, came alive with enthusiasm for one of the biggest sports events on the planet.

The games were played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough — five in the group stage and two in the knockout rounds — but local watch parties, spectator events at pubs, taverns and elsewhere, and a FanFest at Boston’s City Hall Plaza allowed countless additional fans to share in the excitement.
