Top-ranked Massachusetts quarterback Peter Bourque commits to Virginia Tech
Peter Bourque, the top-ranked football player in Massachusetts for the class of 2027, has committed to play at Virginia Tech.
Bourque, a four-star recruit, reneged on his commitment to Michigan on Feb. 17. He opted for the Hokies and coach James Franklin over Georgia and a host of other Div. 1 heavyweights.
In a text message, Rob Bourque, Peter’s father, confirmed to the Globe that his son committed to the Hokies after a “few wild weeks” and is “fired up.”
The elder Bourque noted that Georgia was “right there” and “so hard to say no to.” Penn State was also involved until Bourque made his call.
