Game 78: Red Sox go for series win in matinee at Rockies

After bouncing back with a 5-2 win Tuesday night, the Red Sox have a chance to take the series when they face the Rockies Wednesday afternoon in Denver. First pitch is 3:10 p.m.

The Sox drew even in the series thanks to a strong outing from Sonny Gray. The righthander struck out 11 batters and allowed just one run to improve to 9-1.
With a win Wednesday, the Sox would conclude their six-game road trip at 4-2 before returning to Boston for a seven-game homestand. They will open a four-game series with the Yankees Thursday night, followed by three with the Nationals.
Wednesday’s finale will be a matchup of lefthanders, with Ranger Suarez getting the start for the Sox. Colorado will counter with Kyle Freeland.
