Friday was pure heaven for soccer fans in and around Boston.

Whether they traveled from afar, such as the Tartan Army from Scotland, or were area residents thrilled to see the nations of their family’s ancestry compete on the world’s biggest stage, enthusiasm was high for Friday’s action.

Morocco defeated Scotland in the third of seven World Cup games in Foxborough. Meanwhile, at watch parties around the city and region, fans enjoyed the United States’s victory over Australia to advance to the knockout stage, as well as games featuring Brazil against Haiti and Paraguay against Turkiye.
