Boston Fleet re-sign forward Olivia Mobley and goaltender Amanda Thiele

The Boston Fleet have re-signed forward Olivia Mobley and goaltender Amanda Thiele to one-year PWHL standard player agreements through the 2026-27 season, the organization announced Friday.

The signings were completed during Phase 5 of the PWHL’s expansion process that allows teams an exclusive window to re-sign their own players on expiring contracts.

Mobley, 24, had three goals and two assists through 10 games as a rookie in 2025-26, but spent the rest of the regular season on long-term injured reserve. She returned for the playoffs.

Serving as a backup to league MVP Aerin Frankel, Thiele, 24, started just one game last season, recording 21 saves in a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Frost on March 29 that secured a postseason berth for the Fleet.

The moves followed Thursday’s re-signings of forwards Jill Saulnier and Sophie Shirley.

Saulnier, 34, posted a career-high six points (two goals, four assists) in 25 regular-season games and appeared in all four playoff games in her first full season with the Fleet. Th two-time Canadian Olympian was acquired in a trade with the New York Sirens in exchange for forward Taylor Girard on Jan. 21, 2025.

Shirley, 26, had three goals and six assists while appearing in 22 games in the regular season, including a pair of goals in the win over the Frost to help Thiele secure her first win. Shirley added a goal in the playoffs and has played 70 games in three seasons with the Fleet since being selected in the 11th round of the inaugural draft.

The Fleet have seven other players signed for next season, including forwards Ella Huber, Shay Maloney, Liz Schepers, and Susanna Tapani, plus PWHL Defender of the Year Megan Keller, Rookie of the Year Haley Winn, and Frankel.

The Fleet also selected two forwards and three defenders in Wednesday’s draft.
