Boston Fleet will pick 10th in Wednesday’s PWHL Draft
The Fleet will pick 10th among the 12 teams in the first round of the PWHL Draft, the league announced Monday night.
The fourth annual draft is Wednesday, beginning at 5 p.m. at the historic Fox Theatre in Detroit, one of the four new expansion cities that will begin play next season.
The Vancouver Goldeneyes, an expansion team last season, won the top pick by earning the most points after they were eliminated from playoff contention. The second pick will go to last season’s other expansion squad, the Seattle Torrent, who finished last in the regular-season standings.
The league’s four expansion teams occupy the next four selections, as determined by a randomized draw. Detroit won the draw for the third pick, but the draft hosts are expected to send the pick to Las Vegas as part of a sign-and-trade deal for former Fleet captain Hilary Knight. Should that happen, Las Vegas would own the No. 3 and No. 5 picks. San Jose will pick fourth, and Hamilton sixth.
The final six picks of the first round will follow an inverse order of the 2026 standings, with the New York Sirens and Toronto Sceptres following by the four playoff teams — the Minnesota Frost, Boston Fleet, Ottawa Charge, and league champion Montreal Victoire.

The order will remain the same in all six rounds, with a total of 72 players selected.
The Goldeneyes are expected to use the No. 1 pick on defenseman Caroline Harvey — the 23-year-old Pelham, N.H., native who helped the US women earn Olympic gold, then led Wisconsin to another NCAA title, her third, while also being named the Olympic and NCAA MVP.
There’s no doubt in US coach John Wroblewski’s mind about who deserves to go first: “The accolades that she’s racked up before she’s even graduated college is unprecedented. It’s a no-brainer.”
Other star US Olympians expected to be taken in the first round include Wisconsin’s Laila Edwards and Minnesota forward Abbey Murphy.
