On Saturday morning, freshman righthander Camryn Collier made sure it stayed that way.
Collier struck out 11 in a five-inning shutout for the Dragons as they steamrolled to a 12-0 victory over O’Bryant for their 22nd consecutive city championship at Boston College.
“I was pretty nervous, my stomach was hurting before the game,” said Collier. “But once I stepped on the field and that first inning went by, we knew what we could do and we knew what we were capable of so we just kept going.”
Collier was dominant out the gate, dealing two K’s in the first inning before carving through O’Bryant’s lineup in order in the second.
Scoreless going into the bottom of the third, junior captain Claire Hauck ripped an RBI double to kick off a nine-run explosion for the Dragons. Sophomore Lilianna Telesford ripped an RBI double and scored on a two-run double from junior captain Ava McCue.

“We’re a good hitting team, and once we have good pitching we can really tee off on the ball, which we did,” said Latin Academy coach Rocco Zizza.
Seventh-grader Madison Connolly drove in two runs for the Dragons and Telesford, who split MVP honors with Collier, was 4 for 4 with four RBIs.
“[Telesford] had great base running. I try to preach that bunting is all effort, and base running is all intelligence. She’s not the fastest base runner, but she was so smart and made some great base running decisions,” said Zizza.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Dragons padded their lead when McCue laid down a bunt and Telesford tslid home. In her fourth at bat, Telesford delivered a sacrifice fly, bringing in the final run to cap the win as the Dragons rushed home plate in celebration.
“To know our team is capable of winning that many years in a row, it feels really good to know that we’re keeping that going, and to know that I have players behind me that will continue that,” said Telesford.
